With an investment nearing £1million in new facilities and retail outlets, students can gain practical experiences of running their own business, which is supported by experienced business mentors who will provide guidance and set up projects for students to engage in.

The Studio School is based upon technical innovation where every student has access to their own wireless device, which enables them to plan, research and present their work to teachers, mentors and visitors from business partnerships.

At Barnfield Studio School we fully recognise that every student has their own abilities and talents. We aim to nurture these by providing a high degree of personalisation.

Our Strategy :

• Paid employment for post 16 students in a real work experience situation in addition to comprehensive support for setting up a business alongside their studies.

• Flexible holiday periods – students will ultimately have the opportunity to book their holidays as they would do in the world of work

• Smaller class sizes – a maximum of 16 students/class

• Personal coach for every student to support with both academic and pastoral needs

• Individual learning plans are created for all students

• All students are provided with access to their own wireless device, allowing them to access resources and assignments from home as well as from within the Academy

• Access to common room and student facilities area for all, including Wii Games room

• Vivo Miles reward system – a ‘virtual currency’ which students can bank and then cash in for a wide range of items including : iPods, tickets for events and store vouchers
