Barnfield Open for Business

 
Launched in January 2011 the Barnfield Retail Quarter offers students the opportunity to utilise their business flare. Our state-of-the-art pods and excellent external business links, will enable students to feel motivated and challenged which in turn will boost confidence levels and provide experience of working as part of a team or individually.

• Business mentors provide key advice on writing effective business plans, understanding market research and ultimately setting up a successful, profitable business.

• Guest speakers and lecturers from local, national and international businesses, companies and organisations share their skills and knowledge through talks held at the Academy.

• Fundraising activities for local and national charities and to support and finance your business plans

• The opportunity to work in and manage the Barnfield business pods/retail outlets

• Paid work experience for Year 12 and 13 students in the Barnfield Business Pods and other local businesses

• A variety of trips and visits to Westminster, Canary Wharf, New York, Boston (Harvard University) and other residential trips.
